VietNamNet Bridge – Scheduled from June 5-13, Hue Festival 2010 will be the largest thus far, attracting participants from 31 countries.
Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on January 21, Thua Thien – Hue Vice-Chair Ngo Hoa announced the theme of the Hue Festival: “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development.”
The festival will feature new programmes: the maneuver of the Nguyen Dynasty’s navy, unique royal ceremonies, a special ballet and opera show and also Buddhist music.
They will have participation from artists of 31 countries from five continents. The organizing board has verified 31 shows of 21 countries including drama, street art, installation art, exhibitions and films.
The space for the festival will be expanded from the Hue royal citadel to neighbouring areas.
“This will be a successful festival with five aspects: traditional, modern, imposing, impressive and safe,” confirmed Ngo Hoa.
