The coastal resort city of Vung Tau boasts a decent selection of midrange hotels, one stunningly beautiful boutique resort and plenty of budget hotels and guest houses catering to budget travelers. Most of the tourist hotels are located on the Back Beach, currently catering mainly to Vietnamese holiday-makers. Also on the Back Beach one can find some simple A-frame bungalows with limited facilities but great ocean views which are available for very reasonable rates.
The Front Beach hotels are geared more toward expatriate visitors and business travelers (Vung Tau is the centre of Vietnam's sizable oil and gas industry) and these tend to be better appointed and far more conveniently located for Vung Tau's nightlife.
